Fred Easker
I met Fred Easker and his wife, Velga, when they moved into a house up the hill from ours in Lansing, Iowa more than a decade ago. They are both artists and kind, gentle human beings. Frank and I no longer live in Lansing, and they no longer live in the house up the hill, but we have continued to keep in touch.
Fred Easker’s paintings are included in museum, corporate and private collections throughout the Midwest and has appeared in a number of periodicals and books. Fred and Velga live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa fulltime now while continuing to maintain a part time art studio in Lansing. You can learn more about Fred and his artwork on his website: easkerart.com.
It is such an honor to have some of Fred’s oil paintings highlighted on my website. In this way, I feel like I can share a bit of my neighborhood and home with you, as we have a print of one of Fred’s paintings, Lansing Twilight, in our living room. We are reminded of our friendship with Fred and Velga, and our roots in Lansing through this painting.
Fred, I am sending you a heartfelt thank you for your willingness to share your beautiful artwork on this website! I hope to be sitting with you and Velga soon over a cup of tea!
